Hello!

It's nice to meet you.

My name is Mishti. I'm a UX Design and Research enthusiast. Previously, I worked with the Seattle Department of Transportation to improve their Transit Safety Experience.

As an avid yoga and meditation practitioner (with 200 hours in training), I strive to bring intentionality both to my work and my personal life. I believe in the philosophy of ahimsa, which in yoga is a practice of compassion and empathy. I bring this mindset to my work to understand people better and create impactful solutions that actually address people's needs.

I studied Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) at the University of Washington (UW) with a minor in Data Science. My education was deeply informed by the Honors program, which gave me the opportunity to take classes across a variety of disciplines and meet people from different backgrounds. During my college journey, I came across HuskyADAPT, an organization focused on accessible design and play technology. I joined their design program and worked on several projects that sought to make play tools more accessible for disabled people. Through working with HuskyADAPT, I discovered my love for socially impactful design and research which eventually led me to conducting community-centered research work at SDOT.

I've always derived inspiration from storytelling. I've been an avid reader and writer throughout my life. Previously, I wrote for The Daily and Voyage Magazine. I'm always inspired to bring this love for storytelling into my work. Outside of writing, I've sought out opportunities to grow as a leader in my community. I've served as the President of the HCDE Student Association, where I led a team of 6 people. Collectively, we organized 10+ professional and community building events for over 200+ HCDE students. I also served as a Design Lead for HuskyADAPT, where I oversaw their design program and mentored 36+ students in inclusive design principles. I was recognized as one of the Husky 100 for my leadership and impact during my time at UW. I'm also incredibly grateful to have received the Dean's medal for Leadership and Engagement in the College of Engineering (representing 8,000 students).
